Susan's Ewoof

Susan is a veteran dog owner and knowledgeable in dog behavior, through her own personal dog experiences and self-education, coming to Rocky's after a career as a registered nurse.

Susan has been a pet professional for 30 years and personally teaches - group dog obedience - classes.

Puppy Kindergarten
Puppies 10-20 weeks old
A prevention course designed to establish desired behavioral patterns. Puppy biting, chewing, and housetraining are discussed in detail, as well as the importance of proper corrections.

  • Puppies socialize off leash and learn verbal and hand commands for sit, down, stand, and come.
  • They learn how to walk on leash without pulling.
  • A good foundation for a well-mannered dog.

Basic Obedience
Dogs over 5 months old
Dogs learn basic vocabulary (sit, down, stand, come, off) and more complex skills such as heel, stay and leave it.

  • The main objective for this level of obedience is for your dog to obey around distractions.
  • All work done on leash.
  • Pre-requisite for Advanced Obedience.

Advanced Obedience
Intended to refine basic skills and learn tricks.

  • Some off leash work.
  • Pre-requisite for Agility.
Agility….just for the fun of it!
It builds confidence; wears off excess energy, teaches your dog how to learn, and develops a closer relationship between dog and owner.

Private In-Home Consultation - Evaluations, Behavioral Consultations and Training

In-home consultation is available, by appointment, in your home, to address specific problem behaviors you may be having.

Dog Board and Train Package, $1350

If you are planning to be away, and want to get a jump start on training with your dog, our Board and Train Package may be what you're looking for. During a 14-night stay (including 2 weekends) your dog will learn basic on-leash obedience behaviors such as heel, down, stay and wait at the door.

Board and Train also includes a private 90-minute "go-home" session at our facility, where our trainer will show you how to maintain your dog's new skills.

You and your dog will receive a leather leash and a custom-fitted training collar or halter as part of the Board and Train Package.

Dog Board and Train Package includes:

  • 14 consecutive nights in Gavins Chateau (including two weekends)
  • Two individualized training sessions per day, 6 days a week, with one of our trainers.
  • A bath at the end of your dog's stay with us.
  • A ninety-minute private “go-home” session with you and your dog.
  • Written follow up instructions.
